From One Man’s Dream to a Family Tradition
Joe Kassab Jewelers was born from grit, craftsmanship, and a deep desire to create a better life. In 1961, Joe Kassab arrived in the U.S. with just $50 in his pocket and a goldsmith’s determination in his hands. He opened a small shop in downtown Portland, where he spent his days repairing jewelry for local stores and his nights waiting tables. Every ounce of energy, and every dollar earned, went back into building a future for his family.
Joe didn’t just build a business. He built opportunity. One by one, he brought his brothers over from Lebanon, teaching them the craft and helping them launch their own careers. But Joe remained rooted in the world of jewelry, committed to the skill, artistry, and integrity that defined his work.
As the years passed, his children grew up watching him at the bench, learning not just technique but the heart behind every piece. Today, Joe’s daughter Melinda continues that legacy, leading Joe Kassab Jewelers with the same values he instilled: honesty, dedication, and care.
We’ve been a part of the Happy Valley and greater Portland community for over 30 years. Inside our store at Clackamas Town Center, you’ll find jewelry made by hand, crafted with intention, and offered with kindness. Our in-house team brings designs to life, repairs sentimental favorites, and helps each customer feel seen and supported — just like Joe always did.
